Short story that is entertaining but you really need to read the stories that come before this one to understand the background. Seems the program directory is really trying to kill off the two main characters but they some how always thwart that effort and survive. I felt that there was more background and character development in this story versus the previous ones. Looking forward to seeing more stories of Jenna and Ariel. Would be good to develop the background and stories more into a full length novel. You would think by now they would be suspicious of the program director trying to kill them off and their seeking to retaliate in real life versus virtual reality.

Net Zero In The Wild Wild West, my seventeenth short(62-page) read from author Jay Toney, an author whose books I’ve been acquiring since February of 2021. A cyber-punk science fiction, well-written with characters & a plot you can buy into with unexpected twists & turns. “I received a Kindle copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving a review.” The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I’ll be reading more from this author with Doc Roberts and the Mindharp of Tombaku already on my TBR list.

Choose any career you like, be a deputy sheriff, a barkeep at the local saloon, a cattle rustler, bank robber, gambler, or freelance. Live the life of Buffalo Bill, Billy the Kid, Jesse James, Annie Oakley, or Calamity Jane! The choice is yours in this open world, full emersion VR simulation. The Game developers specifically ask for Ariel Hartwell and Jenna O’Brien to beta test the new Tombstone simulation. They have a reputation for being trouble magnets. It is believed, they will expose any major bugs in the simulation, so they can be quickly patched, and the game moved to public access. In this simulation, they won’t be attracting trouble. They are the trouble! What a unique ride ,i loved it.

Absolutely brilliant read. A strong storyline with a prime character to die for . To much going on to give much of a review as it would mean spoilers. What I will say is I highly recommend this book.

Jay Toney does a fantastic job in this type of book. It had that element that I was hoping for in this type of book. The concept worked with the genre and was glad everything worked in this world. The characters had that feel that I was looking for and enjoyed the journey with them.
