This is a continuation of Net Zero which featured Ariel becoming involved with NASTI. The story is set in the (I hope!) far future. A future that I would be far from comfortable in. Ariel is an
Edgerunner. She plays VR games but uses equipment we’d probably recognise. NASTI wants beta testers for its new game and she applies. But this is a game unlike any other. All Ariel cares about is the fact that she gets new VR hardware that is inbuilt and is free! As they say “Be careful what you wish for!”

A great start to what is sure to be an exciting book. Lot’s of action from the start. An intriguing look into the future of AI and full body simulations. This makesntechnlike the Occulus and others look like a first generation Atari. Can’t wait to see where the story goes from here. Highly recommend this book.

Review:
This book masterfully tells a tale of a dystopian future, not too far from our own. The lead protagonist is a bisexual female named Ariel and her lesbian, sometimes lover BFF Jenna. Strangely there are very few straight men in the future especially outside the elite. In the dystopian future their lives revolve around a Player one style Meta verse, which is the only think that makes their impoverished lives worth living. Big corporations, like Nexus Advanced Systems Technology, Inc or (NASTI) for short rule the world. This book is full of life or death video game action. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was given a ARC copy for an honest review. The gifting of the free book didn’t influence my review. I am an honest reviewer. I’m curious to read more of Jay Toney’s books.

It’s a quick read in a new world like the first book and a different future to consider.
