Kidnappers, body swappers, ghosts and Greek gods. Space battles, black holes and hyperspace all in one. What else could you ask for? The Roberts clan does it again.

Review:
This book is the 10th in the Space Pirate Roberts series. This book maintains the high quality of the author’s writing. The world building is phenomenally good as is the rest of his writings. The cast of characters is large and well developed. The plot continues to simmer and bubble making for an exciting read. I recommend this book to all adult readers. But keep in mind that this is book 10 of a series that builds and advances with each book. You definitely want to read them in the order intended.

Review:
Persephone and Nathanial pursue a kidnapper thru wormholes to recover their daughter – 4 stars Persephone’s undead relative sneaks away while a recently captured spaceship is being looted. Melinoe can look people in the eye and control their minds instantly. With a little ship sabotage and taking over a salvage crew, Melinoe and the 18 month-old child manage to leave the scene in an unknown direction. For this story, Nathanial is in Persephone’s body and Persephone eventually is in Nathanial’s body. Nathanial (in Persephone’s body) has trouble keeping warm because his (shapely) legs are bare; he wants to wear bloomers or long dresses for warmth but the women (Persephone gossips a lot with her buds) want Persephone to show off her ‘hot’ body in public — she is not even remotely opposed to being sexually alluring to both men and women but cannot stay warm. It is a long-running comical production done well. Meanwhile, there are ships to capture and loot as well as a general notion of finding the right universe to go looking for their daughter. As usual for Captain Roberts, there is some bravado to demonstrate spaceship maneuvering and ‘flying’ but in Persephone’s body, Nathanial gets motion sick big time. Frequent launch sequences with the need for an air sickness bag are repeated many times. Clothing is described mostly by color but with small cloth size and large body size, Nathanial as Persephone looks more like a slut than a beauty. Wormhole travel is described as a one-way, never-come-back with significant time distortion and super long distances traversed in a few minutes. While some of the chapters were extremely long, the plot has more substance than previous Captain Roberts adventures and was more enjoyable.

Review:
Melinoe is neither dead or alive. She is something in between. The people she gathers, her pets, don’t live long. When she no longer has a need of them, she discards them. Then she finds others to take their place. Except for the few. This is about Ariana being kidnapped by Melinoe and the lengths that Nathaniel’s and Persephone will go to to get her back. The hunt goes throughout the universe facing many obstacles, twists and turns. Very exciting you will be wanting to know what will happen next and find this book hard to put down.
